Division made easy for numbers divided by 13

Example 1: 

What is the result of 1/13 ? Convert to a decimal fractions

To solve this ,we use 

Kalau Kshudasasaih meaning "For 13 the multiplicand is 077"

We multiply the multiplicand (077) by 999 using Ekanyunena Purvena or One less than the Previous sutra.We use the same number of digits for multiplying ,so '999'

Now ,077 * 999 =?

Using One less than the Previous sutra,

077 - 1=076

999 - 076 =857

We get Result = 076923

Now multiply the result by the numerator by spliting it as ,

(1/13) * 1

076923 * 1 =076923

Place a decimal point at the beginning as 0.076923

AS SIMPLE AS THAT

Therefore , 1/13 = 0.076923

Example 2: 

What is the result of 2/13 ? Convert to a decimal .

To solve this ,we use 

Kalau Kshudasasaih meaning "For 13 the multiplicand is 077"

We multiply the multiplicand (077) by 999 using Ekanyunena Purvena or One less than the Previous sutra.We use the same number of digits for multiplying ,so '999'

Now ,077 * 999 =?

Using One less than the Previous sutra,

077 - 1=076

999 - 076 =857

We get Result = 076923

So we get (1/13 = 076923 ),

Now multiply the result by the numerator  by splitting it as,

(1/13 ) * 2

076923 * 2 =153846

Place a decimal point at the beginning as 0.153846 (since 2 is a one digit number ,you dont need to move decimal )

AS SIMPLE AS THAT

Therefore , 1/13 = 0.153846

Example 3: 

Now lets take a larger number say ,52/13 ? Convert to a decimal .

To solve this ,we use 

Kalau Kshudasasaih meaning "For 13 the multiplicand is 077"

As seen from the previous example we that (1/13) gives as the result of 

076923.

So, making the above as

52 * (1/13) 

= 52 * 076923

=3999996

Now,

Place a decimal point at the beginning as 3.999996 (i.e : 4 )because 52 is a two digit number.So we move one decimal place

Therefore, Result : 52 / 13 = 4
